Re: Animal welfare act
I strongly suggest that not only clubs but individuals swamp their local MPs of whatever party to say that if they want continued support they need to vote to amend the draft legislations.

Re: Offshore Lakes Entrance
Had a quick fish late this afternoon very close to the beach just past where the sand outflow pipes are located. End result was a nice Gummy and a couple of missed hits. Was a bit lumpy but not too bad. With my daughter and family visiting for the ANZAC weekend it was good to stock up the freezer a ...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Welcome back Pirkz the local "Whiting Whisperer". I put in a very long day last week and finally managed 2 KGW 36 and 38 cm near Metung. Was plauged by tiny Snapper in some spots.

Re: Offshore Lakes Entrance
A long day out with a friend in a much bigger boat yesterday. Fished various spots as far as the pipeline. End was result was just 2 decent Flathead and a legal but not very big Gummy. Lots of very small School Sharks in some spots and the occasional other small fish returned. All in all a very poor...

Re: Offshore Lakes Entrance
re-tyred do you put down a burley pot when chasing Gunnies or are they a by-product of drifting for Flatties. Also where is Petman's please? I have found that fishing a paternoster rig and keeping baits off the bottom reduces the number of rays that get hooked up.

Re: Offshore Lakes Entrance
Today I came back in about 6.30 pm and the crowd at the ramp had gone. Went out and anchored in 12 m off The Pines at 4.00 pm with a burley pot down and was kept busy by an assortment of small School Sharks, a couple of Banjos, a Port Jackson, a big ray that I broke off and finally a good Gummy to m...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Well two more KGW trips since my last post - tried the usual haunts and ended up with just 2 KGW around 36 cm each trip. Was fishing in the channel about halfway between the Barrier Landing and Flanagans Is when a huge school of Salmon errupted around the boat. Within just a few minutes every bird i...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Sorry I do not have a brag mat but on the gunnel I have a fisheries length sticker. As I was on my own a pic on the sticker was not an option.

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Well my fishing week so far. An early morning run to the Barrier Landing Monday for 2 KGW at 36 and 37 cm and hordes of Toadies. Tried again early Tuesday for just 1 KGW about the same size. Thursday mid afternoon I had a wander around Rigby Is for zip and arrived at the barrier just before low tide...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Well I finally found a few decent KGW near the Barrier Landing today - they were were very timid and the Toadies were biting a lot harder than the Whiting. Bait was prawn. Anyway I ended up with 6 between 34 and 37 cm, lost a couple of decent fish, and released 2 around 30 cm. Many "micro moves" and...
