Bonnie Doon 27/12/15

Went fishing at Bonnie Doon yesterday using scrub worms with a running sinker on 6 pound line. Caught one carp, had a couple of bust offs on snags. Next time, I'll try heavier line as 6 pound is apparently a little light and might have helped drag out the fish from under the snags. https://dl.dropbo...

Lake Nillahcootie 5/4/15

Spent a few afternoon hours fishing at lake nillahcootie using scrub worms and yabbies as bait with a running sinker rig. Not a single touch between 12-5pm, but at least i got to relax and read a few chapters of my book.

Lure fishing at the Dry Creek Rd end of Bonnie Doon last couple of days. I've seen a few large carp come up the waters edge and suck mud. Also saw a few fish breaching, I assume chasing food on the surface. I've tried using stump jumpers, hog backs, bullits, and haven't had even one follow. Fish hoo...

I started at Dry Creek Rd and can barely believe how much lower it looks compared to when I fishing there around xmas. I grabbed a half dozen stumpjumpers and a new rod and reel combo at kmart on the way home from work tonight. Hopefully I'll get onto something at bonnie doon over the weekend :)

Yeah just walk along the bank casting into the trees....soft plastics, soinner baits, stump jumpers..all work good.
