Re: Mercury 75hp vs Suzuki 70hp fourstroke

There's a few merc dealers around home and the main places we go on holidays like Merimbula and Yarrawonga, so that might be the final factor. Sounds like most motors are relatively close together. Someone told me that suzuki offset driveshaft means you could spin a bigger prop than normal but not ...

Re: Mercury 75hp vs Suzuki 70hp fourstroke

Add Tohatsu and Etec G2 to your list as well.

IMO there are no bad new motors it is all about the best boat motor combination ie hp to weight and good local dealer/service center.

For your application I would be looking at a 90Hp motor.

Re: Slack tide at the Rip/heads

Few minutes at most for slack tide but the tide is slow for about 30 minutes. Whilst a good idea to pass on slack tide or incoming tide the dangers of the RIP are over hyped. Sections of the Rip go form 60 M to 15 M depth and this transition of depth cause "Sudden Waves" cos the water is ...

Re: Slack tide at the Rip/heads

Thanks for the responses. To answer a couple of questions: My boat is a 30 footer and I've been through the heads few times. I just wanted to know approximately how long the slack tide period is I've been told 30 minutes, an hour, two hours. cheers Kestrel Few minutes at most for slack tide but the...

Re: Tiagra vs Talica vs Saltiga

I have several Tiagra 50WLRS and my brother has a Talica. Talica is lighter, (from memory I think narrower), smoother (slightly) and has an open top frame. After using the Talica I would go for the Tiagra when using braid for 2 reasons. Tiagra has lower gearing which gives you more grunt particularl...

No different to anything else. They list anything and everything to be legally covered.

Try it for yourself and see how it goes.

Re: Seasickness

Yes all to do with balance and the inner ear.

I had a middle ear infection and got vertigo a few years ago. My balance has never been quite the same since and I haven't been sea sick since.

Previous to this without sea sickness tablets I would get sea sick in calm ocean conditions.
