Re: Lowrance side scan screen shots of salmon school

Might just be following the school for left over sardines ect.

All I know is they always seem to be following salmon schools and it is super easy to turn a salmon into a gummy.

Re: Lowrance side scan screen shots of salmon school

More importantly there was something bigger just off the side of the school.

Very common for gummies, seals to follow salmon schools.

Find a school catch a salmon send out a chunk bait and 9 out of 10 times you will hook up to a gummy.

Re: Gaffs in fresh water Pffft

Re: Best knot for braid to thick leader (not FG)

Do you double the line with Yucatan? Hey mate, same as this video. I only use 4 knots these days and mostly 3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AP6ieyPj_ss I have never tried Yucatan knot. I shall try. Seems like majority agrees that FG is the best and thinnest. I still can't get over the fact that ...

Re: Best knot for braid to thick leader (not FG)

Slim beauty is my choice for braid to leader 9 turns for heavier braid 50lb plus and 11 turns for lighter braid under 50 lb Trim to about 1.5 millimetre on the leader side and should have no problem through most small guides (can be even shorter if you can mushroom the tag end with a lighter) Hi an...

Improved Albright is the second thinnest knot (briad to leader).

Very quick and easy to tie even when rocking around on a boat.

Motor still has issues?

Certainly fix motor and trailer first.
