Re: Fuel useage good or bad for a 2 stroke.

PJ72 he only recently purchased the boat.

Just a tip in reply to some of the advice offered here, some of us have been on the boat.

In addition to this some of us have had passed experience with the same motor on similar boats.

Re: Capital gains simplified

Yep go and see an account. I would also suggest going to see a financial adviser.

Pick one that is independent charges by the hour and doesn't receive kick backs.

Re: Fuel useage good or bad for a 2 stroke.

5.6mtr trailcraft with a 115 johnson 2 stroke carby... pretty spot on for the fuel usage id suggest. Sorry mate I cant agree with that, the fuel consumption is close to double what it should be the for the motor and hull. Re: Fuel useage good or bad for a 2 stroke.

It is carby but the economy is terrible using almost twice as much fuel as it should have.

Given the plug lead issue I think it is worth doing another trip with a full tank of fresh fuel BP premium 95.

Re: Shimano game spinning outfit?

We found the free spool of egg beaters provided slightly better hook up rates.

Worth having one outfit IMO.

Re: Getting on with boat re-build

Opti is a brilliant motor except for the noise, the 6 cylinders are louder than old school 2 strokes. Yamaha and zuk 2 strokes were always a bit nicer and quiter than Evinrude/Johnson and Mercs. But nothing will ever beat the sound and smell of a 135hp+ V6 black max Mercury on its first start in 3 ...

Have you seen the price tag on one of those things!? No need to spend that much in my opinion.

I have previously posted on this, I have one and wouldn't buy one again.
