Hi Sam. You're not wrong when it comes to the wind ruling at the moment. At least around the area you're looking you have multiple options depending on wind direction. We were out Friday targeting Squid/Whiting at Clifton Springs with limited success in the wind. Moved around the corner to St Leonar...

Great question. My personal and completely unqualified opinion is I would love to see more stocking of natives rather than introduced species. Granted the stocking of trout is great to get people out fishing but I think the shock of putting that amount of fish to a system has to have an effect even ...

Bought a few to go up north with. As has been mentioned they are good for the price and they are easy to work. I had better luck with stickbaits than poppers up there though.

I take a couple of 3 piece travel rods up to Weipa every year and have yet to be let down. Shimano revolution travel series. The 703 (5-10kg) and 733 (10-15kg) and 763 (15-24kg) I reckon they are fantastic rods. Otherwise the Raider 703 heavy spin (6-10kg) are still great 3 piece rods. They collapse...
