Re: Nice swimming area.
I'd probably just take them to the beach. I know boats are fun but I probably wouldn't want small kids swimming around it.

Re: Daiwa vs. Shimano
Personally I've never used Daiwa. Shimano is a reputable company when it comes to mechanical products such as brakes, gears, reels ect. Also, Daiwa is way out of my price range which is why I can't comment. But so far shimano has never failed me which is why I don't need to stray.

Re: Gold Coast
Mate you could pretty much walk for a hundred meters and start catching yellow fin bream that swim around in their millions or even catch a few sharks. To them it's normal, if they ever fished here they would probably think it's boring. Anyway I'm back now, can't wait to freeze for donuts again

Re: Docklands
The native ones are ok, but it's basically the common brown rat or Norway rat that are introduced which are in large numbers in the water too. I'll never forget when these old pipes were left at the end of Collins street and there were about 50 of them scuttling around. No white tails, just skinless...

Re: 60,000 fish swim into healthier Wimmera River
If they could stock bream that would be a start. Anyone who dishes knows you need to travel at least an hour from melbourne. It's too polluted and even if you do get a fish, I wouldn't eat it.
