Re: Surf rod and reel combo spin

I run the Shimano PW nano in a 9ft. Mine is the 4 piece which means it is never out of the car. The action is fine and it casts mile. I tend to run a 5000 loaded with 15lb mono. reel as I like the faster retrieving this can offer without spinning your arm off. I have had salmon ipto 60cm l. This and...

Re: Fish Id - Lake eildon

As one of the glorious pommes referred to earlier my initial though was roach but casting my mind back to my teenage Fishing year I now think it looks like a Dace. These are like lightweight pale roach. J have not heard of any in this country by that’s what it looks like to me.

Re: Another PB Brown (3.85 kg) to end my season..

Considering the time of year is there any chance he was a sea run fish? I dong know the river so was j...

Re: brighton pier

Did not measure it guys as I wanted a quick release but I think the top of that box is 32 on its long edge. So probably 36 ish. Was solid built and pull like a train though.

Re: brighton pier

Just wanted to thank a couple of Brighton pier regulars. Not sure who you were but my first ventuture while overnighting in the city with work was a couple of weeks ago. I caught doughnuts but they picked up a few pinkies and gave me some tips. So last night armed with a new “secret bait” some bait ...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Too true. A fish is a fish. At the end of the day it's the Buzz the bumps and the scream of the reel that gets the pulse going. I have been fishing years and still can't decide weather its me or the fish that is really the hooked one at this stage.

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

I have read this thread many times and the adventures of CC make me remember my days as a schoolboy back fishing the farm ponds of Blighty. Well today I was riding the bike with my daughter around Berwick Springsteen I spied some carp taking bread among the ducks and I thought maybe! When I got home...

Re: Good buys at Rays outdoors at the Moment

I got fins braid for $12 yesterday. It is still worth a look with 25% of already reduced stuff until Sunday.
