No flatties around now due to cold Lake water is around 12deg. Crabs will be around still. Entrance channel at Bullock island, again better with a boat u near the Barrier. sorry Re-tyred when you say the Entrance channel at Bullock island do you mean the one in blue circle in the attached map below...

JS and Retyred both live down there and will be more help with the estuary than me. The surf beach is full of salmon and tailor, red bluff being the spot that has produced the most for me. wont be bringing the surf rods this time as i wont have room.
