Had the same problem recently and started a thread. Got my answer from the helpful replies. Turned out my reel wasn't suitable but your issue might be different.

Re: Maribyrnong mullet
I saw a bunch while bream fishing near Edgewater just last week. They were rolling along the the edge of the bank. Probably about 30-50 odd.

Re: Tiger Fish - Zambezi River
Did you see the episode of River Monsters where he was chasing the Tiger Fish? It seemed like they were really difficult to find, but you guys obviously got onto a good patch.

Re: Any fish at Sugarloaf Reservoir Park?
From memory you can't use bait there because it's drinking water..

Re: Quick pre-lunch Nong Sesh
So I found a good patch of low tide bream today and threw everything I had at them. One hook up but lost the fish shortly after. Took a 'Gary Glitter' squidgy (don't blame me for the name). No other action over a 1.5hr sesh. I could see them everywhere but they didn't seem too hungry. Was fishing und...

Re: Quick pre-lunch Nong Sesh
I heard if you work out low tide nong bream you get free drinks at the Anglers Tavern for life! Oh no.. I've said too much already.. Some of the bream I saw today were in 30cm of water. Lots of tiddlers and the occasional biggun in a bit deeper. Was really surprised to see them at all given the tide...

Re: Quick pre-lunch Nong Sesh
I hit the nong on a lowish tide this evening. Saw plenty of bream in shallow and lots of tiny bait fish around. Bream were just cruising up and down, didn't see them feeding. I knew it'd be difficult with the tide so low. Tried squiggy wrigglers in bloodworm and dark yellow/black, plus pumpkinseed t...

Re: Braid knots
Road test.... SUCCESS! Flicked some SPs around for a couple of hours chasing bream on the Nong tonight. No more wind-knots, not even one. So it was either my old reel or the way I wound the braid on originally that was the issue. Also made sure to remind myself about line management. Donut session b...

Re: Braid knots
I'm loving the debate on knot strength etc and the different examples shown. Gives me plenty to learn and I keep coming back to this thread to try new knots. I'll be reviewing this thread for quite a while yet while I get the hang of a few styles. I just want to be confident with a 2-3 that will ser...

Re: Braid knots
Thanks for that Brett. Today wasn't a complete disaster. I was impressed with the uni to uni knot. Sailed through the guides nicely and handled some small pinkys without breaking. It was easy to tie at home but I was hopeless at it in the wind and under pressure. More practice needed. I ended up usi...
