Re: Putting Pipi's on a hook so they stay on properly - Video please

Went a bit better with the Longshank Baitholders and the squid strip at the end. Went to Merricks Beach yesterday; WP_20180411_16_58_38_Pro (2) (Small).jpg and got a baby whiting (thrown back); WP_20180411_14_38_24_Pro.jpg and a Pinkie (kept); WP_20180411_16_03_33_Pro (Small).jpg Pretty hard work - ...

Bought these from BCF;
http://www.gotchabait.com.au/products/p ... arge-pack/

Might head back down there and look for some different hooks. Long Shank /Baitholder if there is such a thing?
What do people think of the circles vs the long shank?

Putting Pipi's on a hook so they stay on properly - Video please

Hi, was trying to put pipi's on Size 4 Long Shank Hooks this morning at Canadian Bay (in the hope of some whiting as per the "LBF Guide to PPB") and they just seem to slide straight off the shank down to the bottom and be very easy for the fish to get off. :( A tiddler salmon and a tiddler puffer fi...

Re: Whiting Snatcher's & Pipi's?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlfLqWaA78I Thanks for the replies. Was there meant to be a bit in that video showing how to bait up? Seems like most of the videos I find relate to boat fishing - is it fair to say that being land based and having to cast out means you have to tie your bait on bette...

Whiting Snatcher's & Pipi's?

Hi all, thought I'd try my luck with a Whiting Snatcher at Mt. Martha rocks this morning and kept losing bait to whatever these are - leatherjackets? MMR.jpg For bait on the Whiting Snatcher I was using pipis, but to be honest this was only the 2nd time I've ever used pipi's and I basically had NFI ...

OK, cheers for all that.

Can't remember where I got it, it was a while ago - might have been online.

Think I'll go for a different brand.

20 lb Vanish Flourocarbon Leader - Breaking by hand?

Hi all, trying to tie an FG knot (trying being the operative word), 20 lb braid to 20 lb Vanish Flourocarbon Leader. When I went to cinch the knot down, the leader broke. Thought it must have been a weak bit of leader with some fault, but pulled more leader off the spool and tried pulling on it 3-4 ...

Re: Daveys Bay Yacht Club Mt.Eliza - OK to use pier?

OK - cheers for that - they've certainly made it hard for the general public to get to. We looked up the house with the massive brick fence that runs along the walking track from the car park at the end of Daveys Bay Rd on realestate.com.au and saw it last sold for $7.7 million. :o_0: How the other ...
