I usually just use a ball sinker running straight to the hook just because it's simple and there's less chance of getting snagged some people do use a pasnoster rigs and they do catch fish what ever works for you i guess

A mate of mine a few years ago got these weight things from the tackle shop that were spose to make the lure go deeper when trolling he had different sizes for different depths I can't remember if they worked or not, I usually just try and use diving lures
