Boat battery.

I'm looking to getting my boat up and running and need a new battery for my boat. When I bought it it was fitted with a motorbike battery which did the job but not for long. I'm wondering how you work out what size battery to get? I have a 40hp Mercury 2 stroke 99 model with electric start. I run a ...

New GPS or iPad?

I am looking to upgrade my GPS unit in my boat. I currently run a dedicated Furuno sounder and have a GPS/sounder as my GPS which I'm looking to get rid of. I'm wondering whether anyone runs an ipad as their main GPS and what are the pros / cons to this. I fish mainly ppb and Westernport but also a ...

Re: Inverloch 9/9

Good catch! I don't really hear too many reports from down that way. Either no Ody catches anything or they keep it a secret. Have you ever done any good on the squid down there?

Re: Ratchet Tie Downs

Have you looked at the lever style tie down straps? Less moving parts = less chance of malfunction/corrosion. Plus they are generally cheaper and quicker too. And most have some sort of protection fabric to stop scratching the boat.

Garfish in Inverloch

Has anyone had any luck with garfish in Inverloch. It seems like they out in full force at the moment but was wondering if anyone ever catches them down there. Never seen them caught personally though haven't seen too many people targeting them.

Re: Trailer modification.

The three rollers and their brackets will need to be replaced and was thinking if I can salvage the brackets I can bolt on the centre beam. It's a bit of a cost thing as if I'm going to replace the rollers with rollers I'll with do a full ladder or rollers which is costly.Plus I've got all the mater...

Re: Trailer modification.

Yep. Except a solid beam. The polycraft looks like the keel sits in between the gaps of the two narrow beams. Where my keel will be sitting on the carpeted wood.

Re: Trailer modification.

Nup. Straight up the guts of the trailer. Remove the rollers and have a carpeted beam.
