Saturday
Early (6am) launch at one the less busy bellarine ramps, pitch black motoring out and fished various spots at the end of the mussel farm for a steady flow of modest size kgw through the day. A dusting of flatties rounded out the catch, approx 28 whiting and 4 flatties in total. Mackerel, yakkas, and...

Anglesea today
6am launch at Roadknight with a couple of mates in one of their boats. Headed towards the FAD, drifting in 40 - 50m in a brisk and cool NW wind. Soaked a range of baits for consistent patches of pinkies, swarms of mackerel, a cuttlefish, too many gurnard, a few good flatties and some wrasse. With pl...

Torquay sesh.
Fished off Torquay Monday 29th Jan. Missus and mate and his missus were crew. Started off the back of Jan Juc for a hot bite of pinkies and a couple of surprise whiting, including fotd - a 45cm kgw caught by my wife of course. Wind blew up midday so headed back to fishos point for a few more whiting...

Re: fishing Waratah bay
Tougher project, the beaches at walkerville north and south tend to be a bit reefy, with whiting beyond them. Further around the beaches catch more swell, likely for salmon more than whiting. Still a great spot.

Re: Stacer 469 outlaw
If it’s too rough for a 4.69, it’s gunna be uncomfortable in anything. Having your boat maintained well, motor in order, and an extra battery are more important than size. Oh, and a good serve of common sense. Bigger boats are harder to manage and store/garage, harder to tow, use exponentially more ...

Late reply but the soft sand bank just beyond the boat launch area - heaps there.

Re: Freshwater casting from Bowrider
75 is enormously powerful on a 475, if towing tubes or skiers the obvious choice.
Happy to go out a long way, weather dependant. Been surfing a long time so can pick conditions reasonably well. Pride comes before a fall, happy to call off a launch if in doubt…

Re: Freshwater casting from Bowrider
My boat has the better stability of the 2, but not sure if this has anything to do with the different layout or not. If just river fishing/boating, the stacer will be cheaper, and just as good. Remember I fish offshore from Torquay, a world of difference to inland requirements. His is powered by a 6...

Re: Freshwater casting from Bowrider
I have a 475 stacer bay master, bro in law quinnie 480 bow rider. In medium chop the quinnie craps on the stacer hull. The sharp angle of the quintrex hull at the bow makes a huge difference. But if getting a bow rider would always go 5m+, due to the squeeze on fishing space.
