Great post truedogz, more sense there than 2 nccp meetings full of mr barwick talking spin. Full of fantasy telling how the water will be crystal clear after the carp are gone, and how there will be a stage by stage clean up, yeah thats gonna be safe !! ..plenty of pros and no cons, just what joe pu...

Apologies truedogz for coming across as a troll Am nothing to do with koi, I'm from s.a....i fish the murray for carp and catfish and usually go to mildura for more natives as they're pretty scarce around here :( My concern is the virus they want to dump in the murray and I've been to 2 nccp forums....

Can somebody post a picture on here of the Murray after the locks were built where the water is clear, with some sort of proof of course, thanks :thumbsup:

Ok so all you fellas whinging about carp making the water muddy, can you show me a picture of the "crystal clear" river murray after the locks were completed?
I've scoured the net asking many people without success even the admin on "total native fishing" promised me one? ....still waiting !!

So does anyone have more info on the ehn virus,
"watp" mentioned that the virus mutated and jumped species without a problem, just another reason we shouldn't mess around with the number one river in Australia :down:

Interesting to see so many thoughts on the virus, most of which are valid but the one overlying problem they haven't sorted out after 7 years of research is the danger of tons of rotting fish that will ultimately deoxigenate the water and the biggest losers of that will be the native fish which are...

If redfin and carp are a problem for trout then murray cod and callop are too ! I thought trout were introduced too so they are a problem to the natives? They should be put in the same basket as all introduced fish ;-)
