Yea I was going off the beach because the groynes were completely swamped. Have caught them off the beach before but yea way too windy to be comfortable, that’s for sure

Hey Guys, So I have found out from a few people that apparently when there is a westerly wind blowing (Fishing landbased from Hampton) it is meant to be great fishing for pinkies. I rugged up tonight and braved the 20-30knt west north westerly and didn’t get one touch for 2 hours. It was super hard ...

What are other people’s favourite jigs? Seems to be a different ball game compared to Sydney, you pretty much throw any jig at a squid in Sydney and they go for it..

I was also using a white yamashita 3.0 the other night.. it was weird they were cruising pretty quick and would even look at the jig.. very picky ahaha !

I went to Blackrock pier tonight for a couple hours.. spotted a few squid but none of them would touch a jig.. where do you fish the pier? Up the end casting back towards the beach?Lightningx wrote:Brighton pier, black rock pier and Beaumaris pier caught squid from all of them. Good luck :thumbsup:

sometimes are better than other times but just keep a jig in your tackle box and give it ago i bought a new rod awhile back was itching to give it a cast went to brighton expecting nothing water was dirty was facing into the wind so only getting about 10meters with the cast ended up with eight squi...

I read that it currently isn’t snapper season but then I read somewhere else that they have a second run of snapper around this time...
