i'd say the most important thing to spend is time not money.
i like to look for the sweet spot in gear, not the cheapest, not top of the line (unless its for an extreme purpose).
a sounder would come in handy at times on a yak.

Re: VIC COUPLE FINED IN WA
so you fillet up 10kg's worth, and 10kg for your partner and throw the rest? sounds strange.

GPS Phone apps
Which GPS phone apps are you using? I'm looking for something simple and easy to use for entering gps coordinates into from google maps etc. I'm sort of using Avenza which i use for hunting, its great, but there's not much in the way of maps for port phillip and westernport. I use the maps on my low...

Re: Freshwater casting from Bowrider
My boat has the better stability of the 2, but not sure if this has anything to do with the different layout or not. If just river fishing/boating, the stacer will be cheaper, and just as good. Remember I fish offshore from Torquay, a world of difference to inland requirements. His is powered by a ...

Re: Freshwater casting from Bowrider
I have a 475 stacer bay master, bro in law quinnie 480 bow rider. In medium chop the quinnie craps on the stacer hull. The sharp angle of the quintrex hull at the bow makes a huge difference. But if getting a bow rider would always go 5m+, due to the squeeze on fishing space. that is kinda true if ...

Re: Bemm river questions
pretty much as above. i've caught tailor trolling in the lake. caught a heap of bream in the river on a trip 30 years ago, doesn't seem like many head across and fish the rive these daysr, or maybe they just keep quiet about it. the "entrance" is nice but also the most fished area at the times i was...

Re: Freshwater casting from Bowrider
no i haven't, yes they're different shapes but i doubt there would be much difference really, more just looks on the front half, back half looks identical.
those 525 easyrider's are pretty sweet i think.

Re: Freshwater casting from Bowrider
You would tow the 6m version no problems. Visibility isn’t perfect but no worse than a cuddly/half cab. Probably not as good as a run about standing up the front. It’s easy enough to stand up driving the bowrider too, I often do. Around the 5m size would be nice, I can only just fit mine in my garag...
