Place is called Hooked On Bait and Tackle in Hoppers Crossing. A bloke by the name of Michael is the owner but I'm not too sure if he was the repairer or someone else.
Lesson has definitely been learnt!!!!

Hello peeps.. Got the rod back a few weeks ago and just thought I'd give an update... Rod action is still great. I think this is due to the breakage being near the 2piece joint section and not the parabolic bend. If anything the newly repaired area is much stronger now as it has a solid carbon core ...

I've decided to try the repair via a shop before completely discarding this $700 rod.
Will update once repaired and tested.
