Re: Big morning on the Ting at St Leonards

Nice catch mate, what area were you fishing? I am thinking to drag the boat down to Clifton Springs and target some tings, I have not had much success there, but it seems everyone else does so I guess it is only a matter of time before I get lucky....

Re: 1/4/19 Altona Bay

I started at the rock wall and drifted south, due to the northerly. most action was towards the outer edge of the reef where the weed was, before the seabed turned to sand so I am not sure if you would get them "from" the rock wall, but give it a go, you never know. Can't wait to go back with a favo...

Re: 1/4/19 Altona Bay

Worked the patch out in front of the rock wall near Williamstown beach for Squid, 5 drifts only, but produced 4 quality squid. Would have kept going but, the guy I was fishing with didn't want to chase squid, so I relented and drifted over the sand for flathead, for almost no result

Re: Indented Head 29th Sep

I bought the Jigs at Portside Marine Centre in Portarlington, pretty sure I got touched a little, but I didn't have too many options on a Saturday at 1230 before the Grand final kick off. Besides, it is always good to support the small local guys when you can, so I don't feel bad about it. Cooked up...

Re: Indented Head 29th Sep

The original jigs used were just cheapies from BCFA, but the replacement ones that I used on the Sunday were very expensive and from Japan, so I know they will be good. :-) As for ensuring the leader know is outside the guides on the rod... heard and understood. I was checking twice before each cast...

Indented Head 29th Sep

1st report ever..... Launched off Indented Head around 0730 and powered out to the red marker, about 100m from the boat ramp and started drifting for squid. Had a great day by our standards as we landed 13 great size squid with hoods up to 34cm, which is my new PB. Just drifted out, then powered bac...
