Re: Yarra/docklands report 08/02/2020

Finally got a yarra bream on a plastic! Went for a quick one hour fishing before work (again). I made a homemade scent and soaked the zman grub 2in and marukyu crab overnight. First cast with the marukyu crab, snagged and lost it. Then changed to the grub. Got a lot of interested bream, a lot of ta...

Re: Yarra/docklands report 08/02/2020

Nice report and great bream! I think I actually saw you crossing the road near the Crowne Plaza hotel Saturday arvo! That stretch has had very clear water lately (comparatively at least). yeah I went the other day and actually managed to sight fish a few in the yarra, probably the clearest I've see...

Re: Yarra/docklands report 08/02/2020

Yarra Docklands bream on lure makes me feel like an idiot. After reading this report, I went there this morning 6am-8am. Not even a single tap. 4lb fluorocarbon 8ft leader, 6lb braid, $300 rod reel, zman grub, ecogear, atomic, slow roll, hop hop, pause, super slow, twitch, top, bottom, mid, early m...

Re: Yarra/docklands report 08/02/2020

Solid report and some helpful info there mate, good work. What makes you pick the day you go fishing on the yarra and docklands? Tides, water temp, rains? or do you just go whenever you can? Cheers, Anth Haven't really got favorite times, tides or weather patterns in the yarra, I have caught them i...

Yarra/docklands report 08/02/2020

Haven't done a report in a while but the yarra and docklands have been fishing well lately so I thought i'd write one up. Had a session with a bunch of mates yesterday, all of us caught plenty of bream and estuary perch, was about an even split between species. I got 20 fish all up on zman grubz and...

Re: Albert park lake round 2

How do you see where the weed edges are? Do you do small hops or? Polarised sunglasses make it much easier to see weed edges and sand patches, I was doing fairly small hops, just a gentle double twitch, or a twitchy slow roll with pauses. Then a steady slow roll just bellow the surface over the wee...

Re: Albert park lake

Someone’s been watching Ross’s Albert Park lake fishing video haha. Good job on getting the carp. Not often they hit plastics although I’ve heard you can get good reaction bites out of them sometimes. Shallow to medium running small cranks work best for yellas in there imo. Think bream size. Slow r...

Albert park lake round 2

Hit up Albert park lake again this morning to try for a Yellowbelly. Turned out to be quite the session :tu: managed 7 fish all up, 2 trout, 4 estuary perch and finally a Yellowbelly of 60cm right at the end :-D _20191117_105830.JPG DSC_8147.jpg DSC_8140.jpg DSC_8143.jpg DSC_8151.jpg DSC_8136.jpg _2...

Re: Albert park lake

Nice mate - pretty damn good results for a first trip there and not being familiar with the style of fishing! Were you down the south end? When we were there thurs night, there was a thick green alge built up down there that made visibility next to nothing, but cleared up the a hundred or so meters...
