I have arrived at my snapper spot, 10km from the ramp, with plenty of bait..... and no rods....

Cane rods and old reels adorn the walls of my 'chalet'. Last one I acquired is a split cane rod in very good condtion- its now matched with an old Alvey side cast.

I used to find a lot in op shops but they are rare now.

I also bought a retractable hose reel style electrical lead that I've installed above where the boat lives. So I can just pull the lead down to where I need it. Been doing some work on the boat the past few days and it's been golden for running the heat gun/vacuum cleaner etc. Ducky, ALWAYS undo as...

In the region I fish, drive-on is discouraged by the local council because of the damage to the bottom of the ramp (where the concrete ends) that is caused. Its not illegal--- yet!

What's the benefit of electric on something so small and light weight? I made my first one for a person with a heart condition. It was either get a good winch or get rid of the boat.
