Re: Rubber mesh landing net for kayak and landbased

I’ve been using the “large snapper retractable” net pictured at the start of the thread as well. I took the end cap and clip out of the inside of the handle, cut it back with tube cutters and reassembled the end of it. The head is nice and big and the handle is the perfect length. Prior to that net...

Re: Rubber mesh landing net for kayak and landbased

I use the retractable handle large snapper net. I have the kayak net but it's too small and awkward to put anywhere on the Yak. The large one just goes in a moulded in rod holder behind me and is much easier to get fish into.

Re: SP jig head recommendations

The Tackle tactics Estuary jig head value pack is excellent. Has jig head and hook size recommendation guide on the inside of the lid, range of jig heads in a quality tackle box. Best thing I bought when getting into SP.

Re: Rod holders for Landbased fisho's

I have exciting news! I have built my own. Got my 23L Esky and bolted a 40cm length of 32mm PVC pipe to each end at a 60 degree angle with some M8 90mm galvanized bolts and some silicone to seal them. My trusty burley/live bait bucket thing fits inside the esky. So with a cheap hand line reel. some...

Re: Rod holders for Landbased fisho's

Bumping this thread as all the pictures have disappeared. I am specifically interested in buying a rod holder to use on a pier, either attach to a rail or whatever the big wooden things bolted to the pier where I can trip of them are called. I want to be able to leave a rod there while I flick SP's ...

Anyone had much success drifting for flatties with plastics and leaving the rod in the holder?
Yep. Works well in my Yak. Dragging plastics slowly across the bottom is my most successful technique as well.

Re: Soft Plastics

There is a lot of threads here that quickly devolve into a bait vs plastics debate for flathead. In general it seems to me that boat fishos almost always argue that bait is better, land based fishos almost always argue that plastics are better. Simply because you can drift in a boat and keep the ba...
