Re: Stacer 469 outlaw

40 cm would make a huge difference in size in that boat range, I can understand your excitement !! As far as the " old school rule of thumb" Frozen mentions, he is right as a general type " rule" BUT, having my 5.4 meter boat, regularly out now from Jarvis bay, minimum 25 k's, if I went by that old ...

Re: heavier spinning rods

Just thought I'd report on the ugly stik rod. Pulled the trigger on the last one in the shop, 7ft 10-20kg gold series. Went out yesterday doing a bit of trolling, marlin are in close at the minute, but the swell and wind didn't play ball. Matched the Ugly stick up to a Saragosa 14 K F, running 50lb ...

Great for livebaiting, but not for sustained responsive lure work
I was mainly going to use it for casting large slugs or poppers out wide for the larger species, I have smaller spinning set ups for lure type work.
Wanted to match something that could handle the 14K Saragosa..

heavier spinning rods

Been looking at a few spinning rods, capable of handling a 14000 Saragosa that I suddenly found I had, is spooled up with 50lb braid, and unused in the box. I remember buying the 10000 and the 14000, maybe 10 years back, have used the 10000 on a few occasions, but the 14k remains new in the box. So ...

Re: Wpb by boat

Best advice I could give you, is to go out a couple of times with someone experienced fishing Westernport.
It's not about whether you can drive a boat, it's the conditions your going into..

Re: New boat option

If your keen on the poly boats then definitely consider the polycraft brumby ( or warrior, if you can afford the extra) Has everything the poly boats are known for and are built like a tank. Downside is the weight.... There's also the smartwave boats which are made in NZ .lot lighter for the same s...
