Those riptides are great lures.
The was a problem with the production on some of them and they were taken off the shelves. But that was a while ago.
Possibly packaged / marked wrongly as there's sinking and floating models. Only way to tell is to weigh it.

The sliders get used to get a big bait eg 1 kg You could never cast that weight out behind the surf line. Take a surf rod you normally use put the sinker on and cast that,easy normal cast. The anti reverse on the newer shimano are underneath the body and almost flush mounted. Have a good look for it.
