Re: Cairn Curran first timer
Thanks fisho. Silly question - with those plastics do you feed the hook in from front or back, and should the hook present out the top or bottom?

Cairn Curran first timer
Hi guys, I finally got around to getting a new motor (2nd hand) for my tinny. Was thinking of trying Cairn Curran for first time. I don’t have a sounder. Any advice? I will likely be up Welshman’s end. Would love a Golden and some Reddies always welcome. Any suggestion welcome. Thanks in advance.

Lake Bolac?
Dropping into lake Bolac this weekend, but looks a bit windy from the north. Any advice on current water levels, sheltered camping and fishing spots?

Re: Penn Sentinel 450SW a good choice?
Main target would be trawling for Trout and Yellow Belly in Cairn Curran. Would be a rare day we target Snapper or Gummies in our 10ft tinny with 6hp, but I do go with mates on occasion. We do go outside Apollo Bay harbour on occasion for flatties or cast from the beach for Salmon. A smooth drag and...

Penn Sentinel 450SW a good choice?
I found two 4-8kg 6 foot boat rods at the Daylesford market yesterday. They will spend 1/2 their life trawling size 2-3 stump jumpers in the likes of Cairn Curran and the other 1/2 baiting for Flatties and casting for Salmon. Would the Penn Sentinel 450SW be a good rell to match? or should I go a bi...
