Re: Are Kayaks worth it?

I've seen Shanes post on Vyak, and he landed some very good Fish. Once offshore I'm sure its stable as ever.
However how the hell would you get it through the waves, unless you had a bay launch, No chance. I'd love to see a video of someone coming back in and trying to surf a wave to shore :)

Re: Are Kayaks worth it?

In my personal Opinion, the Pro Angler is a barge. Its big, heavy and slow. I had a day recently on Shallow Inlet when the wind came up, the Outback, Adventure and Native guys all had a ball smashing through the waves into the headwind, the 2 ProAngler guys beached and dragged them for 1 and a half ...

Re: Are Kayaks worth it?

I have 2 Hobies atm, a 4.5 Adventure, and a 3.6 Outback. If you want to come out for a paddle one day just to test one out, shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to help out.

Re: Are Kayaks worth it?

I have a few mates with Natives, They are a good Kayak.
Exxy, but well thought out. If you dont want to spend the $3000 straight up, keep an eye on Gumtree over Winter. There is always Kayaks being sold due to no use while its cold.

Re: Reef island?

"New Australian's" what does that mean? I thought netting was illegal, did you call DEPI and report them? Not sure if we talking the same spot where there's a strip of black rubber over the wooden horizontal post. Was that supposed to make it easier to drag your kayak over?? I just though...

Re: Reef island?

Its a very popular Yak spot, as its an easy launch and retrieve. ( Parks Vic even set up a Yak launch area) Land Based, its fishable, The whiting hang on the weedline within casting distance, Pinkies hang in the weed and the odd school of Salmon come through chasing Garfish as well. However the down...

Re: Alan Hawks Reel List

Asked my Local Tackle Shop (Hook Up in FTG) about one, as they have the smaller sizes 60-80.
They got it in for me. :)

Re: Alan Hawks Reel List

I just bought the Cabo120 PTSE :) Can't wait to try it out.
Downside is it cost me almost the same amount to spool the bastard.
