Re: Casting a baitcaster reel
There both Shakespeares, I've looked them up and there only worth about $40 to $50 new, I've seen some daiwa bait casters selling for around $350+, because im only starting to learn i dont want to waste my time on these cheap things I have because I doubt I'll make any progress, I can't afford to ju...

Casting a baitcaster reel
Hey everyone, I found 2 baitcaster reels amongst my collection of rods and reels so decided to teach myself how to actually use them, I got them from hard rubbish but never actually bothered using them. Now I'm keen to try something new ive come to realize how hard they are to use. A mate of mine sa...

Vintage rod found in hard rubbish
Hey everyone, I've found a brand new unused vintage Jarvis walker "clarence" fishing rod in a neighbours hard rubbish. The reason I know it's never been used is because the chrom bits to connect the 2 halves dont even have a scuff mark at all from being joined and the reel handle thread is done up w...

Re: What the hell did I hook onto

What the hell did I hook onto
Hey everyone, Something real weird happened to me up at sugarloaf, it was about half hour before dark and i was casting out a soft plastic about 15 meters away from some submerged trees, after a good 4 or 5 casts in the exact same spot something massive grabbed my plastic the second it hit the water...

Re: Setting the drag.. 12.2 pound trout
Nice fish :tu: good footage, you got the hookup footage. Ultegra 1000 has a 3kg max drag I believe, I would put about half drag. When I try to retrieve a lure from a snag, I put my hand and hold the spool, rather than tighten the drag to full. That way I don't change the drag setting. Good idea, I'...
