Re: Destroying the Goulburn river
People race there to get a so called trophy trout, they are big trout but I wouldn't say a trophy.. to me and other serious fishermen a trophy trout is one that you worked for, I was taught to be quiet and stalk the banks, keep back and walk slow, read the river, no sudden movements most of all.. p...

Re: Need info of Grammar school lagoon
Ha, inspired by the first edition of that book (1982), I fished the lagoon a little from a jetty while boarding at the school....without as much as a bite.

Also, funny you mention the thing about the falls and no crocs. Someone told me a while back they seen a croc far inland in a creek where there were falls??? May have been freshwater croc though Yep, you'll get crocs (both freshies and salties) far inland, but only freshies above the falls. I reall...

Terrific spot that. I was there last August, walked into a dive centre and for just 10 bucks was fitted up with snorkeling gear to use all afternoon! Entered at a couple of beaches and was spotting heaps of fish on the reefs, including a juicy looking coral trout just 20m from the beach.

Re: Being friendly to animals
While trout fishing the creek at the back of our farm once I saw an echidna approaching, so I stayed dead still to observe it. Low and behold it hobbled right up to me and began licking me Blundstones. Kinda reminded me of an ad that was screening a few years earlier...

Re: Anaconda. Watch the prices at the checkout.
All I can say is $39 for a fishing shirt Yeah, the UV 50 ones. The wick dry types. Better than a normal shirt in hot weather here. Also after you get melanomas cut out and told to cover up by your doc, its advice I like to take. $39 bucks to know im covered is cheap peace of mind. Each to their own...

Re: Anaconda. Watch the prices at the checkout.
All I can say is $39 for a fishing shirt Is that a lot or a bargain? Personally for boat fishing I just go with a old high vis shirts that work supplies for nuffin... I'd guess this is more some kind of system error than any intentional attempt to rip someone off. I reckon so. I'm usually pleasantl...

Re: Mulloway at St Leonards
Good shot by the looks of it with an entry just behind the gills. What's the range on them spear guns?
I did a little snorkeling on Magnetic Island a few months ago and was surprised at how I could almost get within arms length of barramundi & coral trout, plus a range of less desireables.
