Re: Pirtek Fishing Challenge 2019

We've got Salt water: Australian Salmon, Fresh water: Brown or Rainbow Trout.. Doubt I'll be a contender this year with the trout being mainly small fish in the rivers this season, will still have a crack at it though.. Mystery length is what I'm hoping to win with any luck.. :fish22: Pirtek Fishin...

Re: Pirtek Fishing Challenge 2019

Target species have been announced and we seem to have four target species in the Murray Darling Basin this year as opposed to previous years with 3! Yellas, cod (lure only), carp and redfin. For those who have entered, are there any surprises with the species you can target? cheers Team Bender Has...

Re: The 90

It wouldn't surprise me at all, 2017 (or the year before) there were a couple Sword caught off the East Coast of Tassie, water temps up by 1.5 degrees and there's been a warm current right along the East Coast of Australia down to Tassie from time to time.. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-04-16/mas...

Mate, you're living the dream!
If i got a job offer in TAS, I'd finish packing up before I could finish my first beer.
Nice photos, nice fish. Trout heaven over there.
Yes, living the dream here for sure.. :fish22:

cheers

Great report and pics as always mate! Tannin water trout..

This trip was yesterday, dark tannin water after recent rain was the reason I headed to this river. Once there I found it was much darker than I would have preferred it to be. Couldn't see the river bottom in 18 inches & deeper water, had to slowly work my way up the river. Still spent several hours...

Re: First rod and reel setup - all rounder (budget friendly)

BCF, Anaconca or a tackle store should have what you need.. 6' 6" or & 7 ' rod should do.. KMart also has cheap Jarvis Walker combo set ups.. You should be able to pick up something nice if you prepared to spend $150-00 & it will last longer than the cheaper KMart outfit.. depends on how often you i...

Re: Your best looking catch.

This was my best ever looking wild brown trout taken in a river, caught & released this 8 lb 8 oz brown on the last day of the trout season. Two days earlier I caught a 5 lb 4 oz wild brown trout in the same river.. I probably have a few rainbow trout that are just as good in looks too.. cheers Adri...

Re: Stevenson river 10/2/2019

Wow!! that's early for the rainbow to be so full of eggs too, unless it had something to do with seasonal weather conditions.. I've heard from a few fisho's who keep there trout & they've often said the browns have had full egg sacks in them in March when they've gutted them.. Makes one wonder doesn...
