Squidding is a bit better, but the crowds can be terrible.

I've been using a Samurai Ledge 9'6, 2pc, 12-20lb.
Fair bit out of the $200 budget but it's a fantastic rod. Super-light, whippy but strong backbone.
Casts a mile, great for 30-60g slugs.
Pairs very well with 3000 size reels.

I had fresh tailor In Angola, honestly it was out of this world. The guide used a tailor around 4kg caught that day, cut it into 3x3cm cubes and rolled in batter, fried it in hot deep oil a few minutes only. It was melt in the mouth, delicate and super tasty.
