Barwon river gives up a feed

Down to my usual spot and it was pretty busy.

Kids can fight over the whiting for dinner!

Mixed bag Barwon River

Went down to the River on high tide this afternoon. Plenty of bites but fish were hard to catch. Ended up getting a few including a nice plump Trevally that cooked up a treat.

Re: Sashimi Possibilities

Trevalley and surprisingly Australian salmon.

There is a small risk of sickness eating raw flathead so I'd avoid that.

As for whiting, it's $90 a kilo for it's beautiful eating quality when cooked. Not sure I'd bother eating it raw.

Do not do this. Diesel has many carcinagenic properties that are easily absorbed into your skin.

Re: Is this site becoming redundant?

It's getting to that point. There's a lot of non fishing stuff here that I don't have an interest in. I join the fishing groups from the Geelong area which gives me access to more tailored and relevant info.
