If it doesnt fit into a back pack then you dont need it... maybe look into making a cart out of one of the bunnings style garden carts, fits an esky and you can mount rod holders on the side to carry your rods. Pneumatic tyres also good for the sand

Back in the day (nearly 30 years ago) I used to fish to the left of the bridge on Bulla Rd, and I used to get small brown trout and carp/goldfish hybrids using course fishing techniques, waggler floats with maggots for bait. Its def a tupong, I used to catch heaps of them in the maribyrnong in both fresh and salt. They say they are quite tasty if you get a good size one but they dont get much bigger than the one in your pic

My dam is fed by a creek and overflows into a bigger creek which has redfin in it, when in flood the redfin move around

Usually in winter the smaller redfin slow down and the bigger units come out to play. I have reddies in my dam and they pretty much stopped biting 4 to 5 weeks ago.
