Re: Night Carp Fishing
I was there when they started draining the Arboretum. You could literally net the carp out of the water and there were some big ones in there.

Re: Landbased Options for Kids and Families
Thanks again guys. I'll give Don Lake a crack and I've been to Emerald lake twice without a bite. I've tried Caribbean Gardens and only one bite after a few outings and Ferntree Gully Quarry and Rowville Lakes have had their moments.

Re: Landbased Options for Kids and Families
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. As you know with kids, they lack patience and get bored easily which is why I want to get them catching fish straight away. Last year I took my nephew to Rowville Lakes. We first collect some live bait with a net, then on his first cast he caught a little redfin....

Landbased Options for Kids and Families
Hi Everyone, Like many of you I'm counting the days until the weather warms up and I get a bit of time off work so I can hit the water again in search of fish on the end of my line. Previously I've taken the kids to local spots in my area (Ferntree Gully) like FTG Quarry and Rowville Lakes where the...

Re: Plenty river
Target eels with a float rig with some red meat underneath. There's millions of eels behind the football oval in Montmorency

Re: Can't seem to get a bite
Hi RB85
For trout, I usually use a running sinker rig with a small ball sinker and size 10 occy hook with half a pink powerbait.

Re: Can't seem to get a bite
Thanks guys. Today I was targeting Trout at Yarrambat, no bites.
Usually I like going after redfin, carp, mullet, bream, yakkas, squid, maybe even gars.
Generally I like fishing light, but have always struggled in winter.
Cheers for the feedback.

Can't seem to get a bite
Hi everyone, Recently I've been fishing landbased at a few lakes and saltwater areas around Melbourne, but can't seem get a bite anywhere! I'm located in Boronia (Ferntree Gully), and have hit Ferntree Gully Quarry, Rowville Lakes, Lillydale Lake, Yarrambat Lake, The Nong, The Warmies, Wyndam Harbou...

Re: Best bait for redfin?
Freshwater Gugeon is hands down the best bait I've ever used. Scoop 'em up near weed beds
