Tonight at Flinders Pier while fishing for whatever was on the chew, I witnessed the biggest squid I'd ever seen near the end of the pier slowly begin to surface with a 50cm Pike I wanted to take some photos but it was too dark. I bought a Crane Rod and Reel combo, and it was dynamite value for money. Smooth reel, and good rod.

I fish with both bait and soft plastics. I found that worms work best. The fish are pretty slow to chase plastics, and loose interest quickly.
