Re: First trip to Kakarook

I fished Karkarook a few years back, similar set up to you and with the same results.

However while i was there i did see a few carp brought in by some guys who were set up on the north side of the bridge.

... pier, Brighton pier. You can buy pre-made rigs too, to make things easier. Go to a tackle shop and ask what's best. Easier to show than type. Karkarook is good, family friendly, but can be outfished a lot.

Re: Redfin locations in Melbourne's east

I caught my PB reddie at Karkarook many years ago, not sure how it's fishing these days but I used to see plenty being caught by others. Apparently there's a few being caught in Yarrambat Lake as well.

Re: Karkarook Cod

Nice work on the cod All the cod I've seen come out of the stocked urban lakes (karkarook and others) have had rooted fins and the freshly stocked yellas out of albert park I've seen were in poor condition as well so my guess would be that the damage to the fins ...

What was it caught on? Thanks for the report, and I have to agree with croe on the tattered fins
I'd hazard a guess that it was caught on the dirty big gold spinnerbait hanging out it's mouth :gj:

Re: Karkarook Cod

tattered fins seem to be a pretty consistent theme with the few cod that have been caught from karkarook. it doesn't seem like a healthy environment for them and i doubt they get very big or live very long unfortunately.
