Re: Snapper season Help for begginer
Silly question, is there noticeable structure at Ansetts? I've sounded around the mark a couple of times in a mates boat and haven't found structure or fish. Most likely it's inexperience, but is there anything out there to look for?

That big brown is a great fish! Beautifully colored too.

The only 2 fish I got on Sunday were from the far end of the beach. Just after high.

Free - Rod Sections
I've got 2 rod sections that I want to get rid of, free to a good home. First one is the bottom section of a Shimano Raider Bream 762 2-4 kg. Top section snapped, but this section is in pretty good nick, cork grips are a bit dirty but otherwise ok. Raider.JPG Section one is the tip section of a 902 ...

Re: Recommendation 2500 Reel $50 - $100
Have a search on here - someone posted a couple of weeks ago Shimano Symetre and Aernos reels for $70-$80ish. I think that was at southern sport fishing in Black Rock, but I could be wrong.
Couldn't go past those for your price range.

Carl is using 2/0 on a 45g. The 2/0 I feel sits better on the gillies 40g baitfish if that's the lure you're using.

Re: Daiwa New Releases
I had a play with the new nasci in store the other day, they're impressive - very similar design (externally) to the stradic fb with different colours and obviously heavier. They feel really solidly built though and a very close run to the fk stradic (although I'd still take the fk). Personally I've...

Bentleigh Compleat had the 2500's for $165 (not sure about the 4000) over the weekend.
Not sure if they're still on sale / have any left though.

Re: Australian salmon season 2016
Headed down to Gunna Saturday morning with pretty low expectations given my recent history there, but high tide was around sunrise and a northerly wind at least the conditions were in my favor, although there was still 6ft of swell. Got to the beach about 7 and saw a bait fisho dragging a fish up th...

Re: Australian salmon season 2016
My Dad's missus hooked a seagull in the bay one day, that was interesting... trebles everywhere.
Agree about the swell though, it'd be nice if it dropped below 6ft once in a while.
