There are some great spots close to rhyll. Well in range of those hire boats. I remember catching my 1st whitley skate and wondering what the hell it was about 1am in the morning me and my mate were really excited with the bend in the rod till we saw what it was.

No I have yo zuri, yamashita, daiwa and some I got from rigmaster tackle. My favorite is a yo zuri in a foil goldy colour but tuna bagged pretty quick at point cook with a yamashita brown looking foil

Amazes me why so many squid are caught there its a featureless bottom just sand. the pilots jetty which you are not allowed to fish has great kelp beds near it I have fished it at the change of the tide for great results. You see quite a few people at low tide walk out to the end of bell reef to cat...

Can't see why you need a reel that puts out 10kg of drag bit of an overkill
