We perform in water rescues i.e we have wetsuits helmets etc and jump over in the surf to drag people onboard or to the beach. Practice days...

Re: whos where and doing what for NYE
On fire duty with both the coast guard vessels here at Lakes. Get a front row seat but no drinking. Fireworks are right in front of the Coast guard rooms, so we can have a BBQ and sit and wait to see if they set fire to the scrub in the dunes like the last cpl of years.

Re: Point Lonsdale - Big salmon or King Fish?
I was down there last saturday with one of my son's, never been there before. Guy next to us hooked up on a fish that broke surface just as it struck. Took heaps of line. He finally got it up to the peer and broke his rod. Told him to hang on while we gafted it but he tried to lift it and broke the ...

Re: Howdy
Yes Bret, I was doing electronics here in 95. Fixed quite a few things on Lady Jane.Reggardo's owned it then.
When I was Trawling I ran the Coralie G for quite a few years. Also worked on the James Kerlin and owned the John Dory way back in the 70's.

Just a bit of a dabbler as far as angling is concerned. Recently retired. I was a commercial trawl fisherman in the 70's and 80's , then took up marine electronics. Spent the rest of my working life as a technician on all sorts of vessels from tinnies up to coal ships. Mucked around in boats all my ...
