It's in the technique, I think. You can bounce a jig along the bottom in the same way you'd work a soft plastic. No need for a sinker. You dont want the squid jig to hit the bottom cos it will snag and you mite loose it. The idea is to jig, wind, let sink till its almost near the bottom and repeat....
