Hazlewood pondage is popular for that but I'm sure I heard that they dropped the speed limit so you might need to check up on it.

Nothing wrong with worms from a compost bin. Mostly they are tiger worms which redfin love but there can be many different types of worms in your compost depending on the location. If yours are 6' long they could well be scrubbies which just about every fish love.
