Had some luck a few months ago catching this cod.
It was one off the biggest cod I've caught..
It was released and swam away healthy.
Caught on a yabby floating down a sandbar in the middle off a morning..
Cheers,bm

Re: switching bays
Hey Graham, I'm the 2nd worst fisherman on this forum but I usually park myself in a channel near a drop off and fish a couple of hours each side of a change of tide. Your sounder is going to pay for itself on your 1st trip out when you avoid getting stuck in the mud. Have you rated yourself just a...

Re: Dargo River
These are the two I took home, caught them on spinners, the bottom one is a rainbow. Spoke to a guy while I was up there who said they are usually around in September, fished all through the day but the best time was morning and evening. I was equally surprised when I caught them. I've spent years ...

Re: Boat hire for island drops
What Gultch said about Hogan with that very small beach. But there is not a whole lot else on there. Otherwise you've got Erith and Deal as basically the only other islands that offer enough protection to safely land with the predominately SW Bass Strait swell that doesn't require clambering up roc...

Re: Boat hire for island drops
Ducky 100 percent correct
To do this in Victoria you are best to camp on a protected side off a island or in a creek off a island
The effort to take a land based fisher is hardly worth it.
