Yep....solid glass. Pencil thin. Yet something very sturdy about that type of rod.

Correct....Unfortunately they don't really exist anymore.

A fast action will bend at the tip whereas slower actions bend further into the butt. Parabolic rods bend through the full length. I test them by getting a complicit salesman to hold the tip a couple of feet off the floor (kneel for the cash!) and then I load the rod up and see how it behaves Agree...
