Left my rod in Merimbula!
Just got back from a glorious two weeks in Merimbula. Fishing was great and brained plenty of good Salmon and Tailor of the beaches. Unfortunately though I left my surf spin outfit at the resort we were staying at, along with a couple of rod holders. Not too fussed about the rod holders but I want t...

Re: HELP MAKE RECREATIONAL FISHING EVEN BETTER
Also said that I think things are getting too crowded out there...finding a quiet fishing spot is becoming a lot harder.

Re: Help needed with reel
Just a thought. Seems like the little spring is acting like a self tapping screw and has locked the click pin in place. Is it possible to get a pin underneath it to raise it a little so you can get some purchase with a pair of needle nose pliers, then either try unscrewing it or simply just wrench i...

Mainly land.
Don’t mind boat fishing in rivers and lakes but open water fishing just doesn’t do it for me.

Re: Do you kick the wife out
I’m hearing you Texas! When I’m cooking it chaos and mess and I use every utensil in the kitchen but the results are usually pretty darn good (at least I think so!). But my wife gets in the way and wants to clean up as we go...drives me nuts! Just keep outta my way! I’ll clean up later...

Re: Devilbend reservoir
Because of the weed, you might want to consider going with a heavier leader. EPS will bury you in it pretty quick and be hard to get out so you might need to fish with a tighter drag. Most of the bank on the eastern side of the fishing zone has a gentle slope but is a bit muddy. It’s easy enough wad...

Re: Salmon on Poppers
Managed to pick up three kiloish salmon in a couple of hours last Thursday as did the bloke next to me. Dropped another one. All caught on bait/surf poppers. I think a patch of them came through as the fish were all caught in a twenty minute period. The rest of the time was quiet. Didn’t get a touch...

Re: Mackeral Tips
A number of the higher end bream rods from Japan actually have an Ajing pedigree. I’ve dropped a quite a few bucks on bream gear, even though I could just as easily catch them on a Kmart rod and frozen prawn. In no position to judge someone if they want to do the same for Yakkas. Hell, it could even...

Re: A frustrating trout session...
Your expectations are way higher than mine Adrian! Fair enough too given your track record. I’m happy if I actually connect to a fish, let alone land it!
