Thanks. Yeah when I've fished frankston pier I've mainly fished the end. When there's been a strong westerly I've seen ppl fishing half way. Seriously? Im not surprised, it was blowing its head off. I popped down to the local pier to grab a coffee and it was like a surf beach. But honestly, if you are going to put wave breakers on that pier, you need to design it with 40knot winds in mind.

I have a sarca, with about 10mtrs of chain on a 5.3mtr quinnie. Never had an issue with it not holding. Generally if you have a good chain length and decent anchor if it's not holding you need to let out more rope.

Yeah, feels like a snag, that then starts pulling back the other way. Once they get 1.5kg+ they start pulling string and really giving you a bit of stick, but it's totally different from a fish.
