Re: WP suggestions
Quick report from today - Lesson 1 - Stony Point Ramp has no electronic ticket system, only a man at the boom gate that accepts cash only. I should have researched that more ha ha. Coz I had $0000 cash on me of course so I had to go back to town for that. Anyway it was a very windy day from the get...

Mate, some of ur trips are insane. Big propsDougieK wrote:Chris is an awesome dude and after MTF that's probably my favorite fishing show. I've emulated a few of those trips, the South Coast of NSW is freaking stunning.

Thats a success mate! When I take newbies out, I almost feel like a charter operator. Getting them onto good fish is a reflection of your own fishing ability!!!

Re: Getting on with boat re-build
Opti is a brilliant motor except for the noise, the 6 cylinders are louder than old school 2 strokes. Yamaha and zuk 2 strokes were always a bit nicer and quiter than Evinrude/Johnson and Mercs. But nothing will ever beat the sound and smell of a 135hp+ V6 black max Mercury on its first start in 3 ...

Re: Nissan X-Trail as a tow vehicle?
Can she get an AWD? My ix35 AWD tows a 5.3 quinnie fine. Not ideal, but pulls it around no worries, and the AWD means its fine on a slippery ramp.
I used to have a front wheel drive with a 3.5ltr six, would just spin the wheels on the ramp, had a couple of hairy moments

Re: can my Daiwa Labrax AGS be repaired?
Yeah, as you can see from the thread, it can be repaired but it will impact the action. Dont high stick or lift fish with the rod in future. It sucks, but is possibly a good learning experience. Fishing rods just arent designed for lifting decent fish onto boats/shore. Make sure you use a landing ne...
