Re: Getting on with boat re-build

No worries Col, Connectors, the larger lug connectors I've used are always tin coated copper and sourced them from various places, same as you've mentioned. Re: Getting on with boat re-build

Thanks Col I will need to read up more ( I should have already before installing ). I just wired it all up - including the 4 way battery isolation switch. Re: Getting on with boat re-build

No worries Col, I've just installed a second battery and a VSR myself. I think the ACR and VSR are the same thing ? But it's had me thinking about how the system will be used in practice. Pre VSR I just isolated the one battery when the boat was finished with after a day out. But now, thinking about...

Re: Getting on with boat re-build

Hi Col, you’re right about the fuse rating is to protect the cable, but that’s a maximum fuse rating. So of course you can go as small a fuse as you like, as long as the fuse rating is less than the cable current carrying capacity. With electronics a buffer of at least 10% is a starting point when c...

Re: expensive insurance this is why

Nothing wrong with the speed or overtake. The issue was not enough ball weight. Totally agree on the ball weight, but he had to be doing at least 110 + to overtake. Its not something I would risk with a BMT on the back. Which state was this accident ? Maybe at 110 he’s under the limit but still,, n...
