lately all the pickers have been baby sized mullet and baby bream...seen thousands in there but they are so small... like 5cm or so

Awesome catch! ive only ever fished the surf with bait and not done too greatly.. what kinda rod would i need to be looking at to do this? ive got the usual 10-13.5ft surf rods but ive got a Shakespeare Agility im-7 10'6 1-4kg rod, would this be suitable for lure casting in the surf or would it be ...

Yeah I did the same. Got wicked park thought looked promising then checked it out before getting out my gear. Ended up at flinders lol haha, yeah i was there easter saturday... i probably should have gone to flinders but we drove down to dromana had a quick fish had no luck and drove all the way up...

found that out the hard way the other week....got a GREAT parking spot right at the start near the mobile offices but with people fishing essentially elbow to elbow it was not worth it lol.

peeled prawns on a running sinker rig will get you bream, bream and more bream up near the ramps..
