My grandmother lives walking distance to that pier mate :>) Do you ever go fishing up there much? i didnt know how good the pier was for fishing...wish i knew id of sent a few heavier rods up with my grand parents when they drove up a month earlier lol But now in their early 80s and sold the carava...

havent lived anywhere else but went upto hervey bay when i was 14 back in august 2002, walked out to the beach 50m away from my grandparents caravan @ about 8-9pm at night...using a 6 and a half foot $15 jarvis walker telescopic rod that i took on the plane with me, using size 6 hooks and bean sink...

hmm i didnt have any real issues when first using braid/fused lines..found it way better to cast.. i did get a surf reel with that bright green berkley Fireline that was useless as i didnt spool it very well.. so yeah if its available id get it spooled onto the reel. when i went upto hervey bay (in qld) 13 years ago they were all using bass yabbies, and me being a young teen at the time and scared to get nipped by them (lol) went off and bought some sandworm... it did much better than the bass yabbies....everytime down here though ive used sandworms as bait they...
