Surf Rod for Beaches
After some advice regarding surf rods for tackling salmon and gummies. I find when the conditions are right I can use my 5-12kg surf rod with size 5 star sinkers to keep bait down and I get salmon. However when it is more choppier and stronger winds I can't keep my bait from dragging back to shore. ...

Flinders pier is a good spot. Around 2nd light pole either side depending on wind direction. High tide and look for sandpatches around the weedbeds. I've had success recently and some nice sized ones even over 42cm.

Nice catch. Was going to hit gunna this morning but went to Flinders pier and got some kgw this evening. Biting right on dark. Next week may hit the surf

Flinders pier is also producing for the lb guys. Managed 4 between 5 and 7pm tonight with 1 at 44cm

Nice. Hoping to get out lb at flinders pier on Saturday. Last time before the ban I managed a decent amount good size to. Hope they are still in close. If u got those in shallows sounds promising

Is Fishing Allowed under newest lockdown measures
Hi guys. What's the rule and or thoughts with fishing lb in these times given they say you can exercise with immediate family or alone. But obviously nature of fishing means it wouldn't be a quick 15 min event? Common sense I know but thought I'd ask given going to have some time off

For trevally land based try inverloch if your up for the drive. They are past the pier in great numbers most time if year. I've had success both in winter and summer. Not sure where ya from. Be packed there though at this time.

Port welshpool fresh bait
Hi guys. Heading to welshpool in Jan and was planning on doing some bait collecting pre fishing along the sand near the jetty. Just wondering what is usually pumped from there as I haven't done pumping for bait before. Cheers in advance
