Opti is a brilliant motor except for the noise, the 6 cylinders are louder than old school 2 strokes. Yamaha and zuk 2 strokes were always a bit nicer and quiter than Evinrude/Johnson and Mercs. Can she get an AWD? My ix35 AWD tows a 5.3 quinnie fine. Not ideal, but pulls it around no worries, and the AWD means its fine on a slippery ramp.

I used to have a front wheel drive with a 3.5ltr six, would just spin the wheels on the ramp, had a couple of hairy moments

Yeah, as you can see from the thread, it can be repaired but it will impact the action. Dont high stick or lift fish with the rod in future. It sucks, but is possibly a good learning experience.
