I heard the top end is doing well Sure is mate. Got reds and gumbos in the last couple of weeks. I know a few others have got some real cracking fish too (not looking at any members here o.O) I have actually caught the most fish on couta, which surprised me. But hey, I don’t mind :P Got two gummies...

Thats a success mate! When I take newbies out, I almost feel like a charter operator. Getting them onto good fish is a reflection of your own fishing ability!!!

Opti is a brilliant motor except for the noise, the 6 cylinders are louder than old school 2 strokes. Yamaha and zuk 2 strokes were always a bit nicer and quiter than Evinrude/Johnson and Mercs. But nothing will ever beat the sound and smell of a 135hp+ V6 black max Mercury on its first start in 3 ...

Can she get an AWD? My ix35 AWD tows a 5.3 quinnie fine. Not ideal, but pulls it around no worries, and the AWD means its fine on a slippery ramp.

I used to have a front wheel drive with a 3.5ltr six, would just spin the wheels on the ramp, had a couple of hairy moments

Yeah, as you can see from the thread, it can be repaired but it will impact the action. Dont high stick or lift fish with the rod in future. It sucks, but is possibly a good learning experience.
