I would just stick with the rod you have for now until you've caught a few fish on it and have a better idea what you want for your style of fishing

What fly patterns do you guys use for carp? I used to keep things pretty basic with a few different weights and colours of wooly worms. I used to go to sugarloaf specifically to target the carp on flies and plastics. They are awesome fun on light gear

For something like jbraid or suffix where they list an arbitrary breaking strain either is fine. For something like majorcrafy dangan that lists exact breaking strains bump it to a pe3 or pe4 that says it breaks at 50lb or so. Both are going to be the same diameter and break about the same its just ...
