What happens to gear seized by the dpi?

Hi guys,

I was wanting to know what happens to gear that is seized by the dpi. I know in some countries/states they auction the gear off or they hold on to it until a fine is paid, effectively selling it back to the person they seized it from but I can't find what they do in victoria.

it's one of those funny situations were you desperately want to hook that big fish but at the same time don't.

It's a daiwa generation black, Itchy twitchy. 1.5-3kg. Great rod for reddies and yellas. Good fun. Caught a couple of cod on it too, but believe me, you have a battle on your hands.
